Online Meetings

Due to COVID-19 considerations, we are now holding meeting online until further notice. Online meetings will be held at our usual time, 5:30pm on Thursdays.

Meetings will be held over Zoom, which is free for participants to use. You can join the meeting by computer, mobile device, or telephone. A combination of computer and telephone can be used if you wish to use your phone as your audio system. Please see the list of system requirements for using Zoom. You do not need a Zoom account in order to join meetings. If you are using a computer, we recommend downloading and installing the “Zoom Client for Meetings” ahead of time. If you are using Zoom on a mobile device, you can download the Zoom App from the Google Play Store or Apple Store.

You will need our Zoom meeting link or telephone number in order to join the meeting. These will be distributed through the Toastmasters 4813 email list. If you are not currently on the email list and would like to join the online meeting, please fill out the Contact Form and we will send you these to you.

To avoid issues of audio feedback being picked up by your microphone, we ask that you use headphones for audio rather than external speakers. A webcam for video is not required, but is highly encouraged to most closely simulate in-person meetings. A limited amount of audio and computer equipment is available for lending for those who do not have it. If you are in need of equipment, please let us know through the Contact Form.

During the Zoom meeting, all participants will have their microphones muted by default. When you are speaking, you can un-mute your microphone. To avoid unwanted background noise disrupting the meeting, please keep your microphones muted unless you are speaking. Meeting moderators will mute the microphones of participants who repeatedly cause disturbances with background noise.

We strive to assist our club members and interested participants with setup and any technical issues they encounter. Please do not hesitate to Contact Us with any questions that you have.

If you experience technical issues during the meeting, please use the Zoom chat feature to send a private message to the designated technical officer during the meeting.
